May

2016
Tue 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Online
Facilitated by Conference Location
Topic: Managing a Business

It is important to understand the basics of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and the varied opportunities offered by the participating federal agencies. This one-hour basic introduction will be a high-level overview of these important programs that fund early-stage R&D projects for small businesses, and it will set the stage for follow-on sessions designed to help prepare participants for the Wyoming SBIR Road Tour and the valuable opportunity to meet one-on-one with program managers. This webinar will help participants understand how the programs work and how the various agencies use the SBIR/STTR programs—including what kinds of technologies are being funded. The key concept of “grants vs. contracts” will be introduced, which leads into the focus of the next webinar.

Speaker(s): Mark H. Henry, Founder of Grow Emerging Companies LLC, is a nationally known expert in the SBIR/STTR programs. Mark has 36 years of experience in helping innovative small firms across the country win hundreds of seed-level SBIR/STTR government R&D grants and contracts.
