Wyoming is fortunate to host "Foodpreneur"Marty Butts, owner of Small Potatoes, a national marketing, advocacy and consulting firm that specializes in working with small scale and start-up food product companies seeking to launch and grow their businesses. Marty will discuss the "ABCs of Starting a Food Business," "Defining the Market for your Small Scale Food Business," and "Selling Your Small Scale Food Products." This program is geared towards people looking to launch a new food enterprise, farmers looking to expand their market, and any food producer selling food products directly to consumers, wholesale outlets or other marketplaces. Butts is a local food advocate, entrepreneur, and writer. He has previously served as the Director of Syracuse University's Community Test Kitchen, working with aspiring foodpreneurs to help them turn their product ideas into businesses. He has also been the Community Education and Outreach coordinator for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York. Through Small Potatoes, Marty has worked with hundreds of farms and food product businesses in over a dozen states. Small Potatoes is committed to helping clients break into the marketplace in a way that is practical, manageable and sustainable!
