Pitch Training

As an entrepreneur or small business owner, how often do you find yourself uncertain about how to present information about your company during formal and informal conversations? How often could your description have been clearer, and led to better outcomes? This training will help you perfect your pitch, and adapt it to the many situations you may experience. The next time an opportunity arises, you’ll be ready! Come ready to prepare and share your own pitch, in this interactive training. This training will address verbal pitches (e.g. elevator pitch and speed dating pitch) and formal presentation pitches (e.g. for technology commercialization forums or investor presentations). It will also help you understand and plan for the wide range of outcomes you might be seeking such as raising money, finding advisors, identifying customers, or other resources that the person in the elevator might be able to provide.

Speaker(s): SBDC Advisors and Jeff Carpenter – Jeff is the point person behind Bird Dog Innovation Strategies. His technology commercialization experience includes 4 ½ years leading product development for a clean tech start-up; nearly 10 years in university technology transfer; technology scout in the open innovation group for a medical device company; and commercialization planning, due diligence, and strategic partnering support for entrepreneurs, investors, and technology acquirers. His expertise includes market and competitor analysis, strategic patenting, partner identification and vetting, patent valuation, and license negotiation. Jeff is a Certified Licensing Professional.
