Topic: Managing a Business

This webinar is like a double feature at the movies with two sessions together – each with lots of content. Capturing Repeat Customers In-store and Online: There is a lot of hype about shopping local on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but more than a bump in sales, Small Business Saturday can serve as one of your best opportunities to show your community that they should be shopping at your location all year round. We’ll take a look at what you can do to bring in a big crowd on Small Business Saturday and what you should be preparing for right now to bring those customers back. Alexa is Playing Fair and She is Playing to Win: How to Beat the Internet: We will look at internet selling; knowing that with every advantage, there is a disadvantage. The big advantage that your local business has is one that no internet business can ever match, but you do have to use it to make it work for you. When this webinar is finished, you will have a long list of advantages you can use to keep customers coming back to you.

Speaker(s): Tom Shay is a fourth-generation small business owner. His teachings provide the “nuts and bolts” necessary to improve the operation and profitability of a business. Tom has authored 13 books on small business management and a college textbook on small business accounting and business planning. Having written over 400 columns in 75 trade publications, he has been nominated three times for the Jesse H. Neal Award for Editorial Excellence in Business Media. He has also earned the Certified Speaking Professional distinction, which has only been attained by eight percent of speakers worldwide.

For those that are unable to attend ‘live” at that time, the program will be recorded and registered attendees will receive a link to the recorded session. SBDC Network programs and services are provided to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least two weeks in advance. Language assistance services for clients with limited English proficiency will be provided.
